Is is normal to lay on one end of the bed and touch oneself while the cat lays on the other end of the bed and sleeps/cleans itself/whatever? No contact or anything, but I'm still worried it might be considered a bestiality thing.

There is nothing wrong with thinking about something, either murder or bestiality, so long as you control these urges. Unless you are jacking off to the thought of the cat itself no it is not. You just do not seem to care that the cat is in the room when you are doing it. My pets fallow me to the restroom so I am use to them being in the room when I go. If I do not bring them in they cry till I get out. Some people do not see the animal as someone watching them. Plus its not like they can really tell anyone. So no and I do not think the animal knows what you are doing.

As long as the cat is just there and is not included in the "touching" then there is nothing even remotely weird about the situation.

I did this today even. I hate my moms cat and I just left it there while I was watching movies on my computer. One thing led to another and the cat was never touched or harmed. SOmeone was home so I didn't throw it out and I am most annoyed on how my fiance worked today and couldn't do the job for me.

Lol, it would only be somewhat weird if you were 'touching' your cat, instead of yourself. Why do you think beastiality is legal in some foreign countries?
