I think it's a really bad habit. But when i touch anything i have the urge to wash my hands. Even shaking hands with someone i get my dry soap and wash my hands. Sometimes i even do it in front of them. I feel really sorry for them, but i just can't stand to think of bacteria on my hands. is this normal?
I wash my hands when I come inside from being at school/work/wherever, I wash my hands after I go to the bathroom, before I cook, and before I eat. It's important to wash your hands but not to the point of obsession.
If you're going to wash your hands right in front of the person who just shook it, why not just skip shaking their hand at all and opt for an explanation about germ-phobia. I would be far more understanding of the explanation than the odd hand-washing. It can't wait a few minutes?
If you're around some dirty people, then that's understandable. But if I didn't know any better I would think Space_Ghost was Howie Mandel's OCD having ass, quivering from behind his Lysol disinfected laptop.
There is NO need to do this every time you shake hands with someone. You have a problem. You are scared of non-existent "deadly" bacteria that is clearly not dangerous to you. If you shook hands with me and then immediately performed your Germ-X ritual, I'd probably slap the shit out of you.
i like it when people are "too clean". most people just don't really have hygiene on their mind once they've have their shower in the morning. i maintain throughout the day.
I'm not quite that bad but I constantly wash my hands. Its annoying sometimes.
