Told me about his crush after i tried to make him jealous. iin?

The guy I like texts me all the time and we have really interesting conversations about all sorts of things.
We work together and we're always using the instant messaging platform to talk to each other about other topics (not work related). He always initiate it!
The other day I told him about a creepy guy who works there and is always inviting me to get coffee with him. But this creepy guy has a girlfriend and I get creeped out by his manners. Anyway, I was telling him about it - FYI it's the 2nd time I tell him just to try to make him jealous - and he says to me that he ALSO has a crush on a girl who works there and never had the guts to talk to her because she's really pretty. I got really sad because I'm completely in love with him and I thought he was interested in me (the signs are all there...or were...idk).
After he told me about this girl we changed the subject. He asked If I needed his help (work) and I told him "Fine!" and he answered "Oh, don't talk like that about ~insert name of his crush here ~, you're being disrespectful :p ". I mean, he was trying to be funny ("she's fiiiine :3") but I hated it! So I wanna know you're opinion...was he trying to make me jealous and give me an "eye to eye"? Does he see me just as a friend?
