  • It depends on who it is and what action I'm taking.

It depends on who I'm dealing with, I think.

    If it's a stranger, 50/50
    If it's a jerk, 100/0
    If it's a friend, 30/70
    If it's my sister, 0/100

In my day-to-day life, I'll go out of my way so drastically to help people that it has quite a major negative impact on my life sometimes. When it comes down to something too difficult though, I tend to betray that doctrine and end up messing up and letting people down. So I'm at both poles. I think of myself as a giving person the majority of the time, so I'll vote 60/40 in favour of other people. That would make you imagine I'm on the fence though, which I'm not.

    I'd say 50/50 but it's probably 40/60 :(

It always depends on the situation and how I feel about it, or the situation of the other person and how they feel. I like to be considerate of other people's feelings if they're going through something unpleasant, but if I have to be straight forward, I do it. I do tend to think before doing or saying anything, even if it's only for a couple of seconds.

I don't complete understand this distinction between self and others. Surely the people whom we talk to and interact with throughout our lives have colossal and lasting effects on who we are? For example many of our traits are those we picked up from our parents through copying when we were young.

So it seems unanswerable to say how much I am "me" and how much I am other people at any one time.

        • Indeed it was, my good fellow! Wanna know what my favorite reference is? O:)

"Once more the Sith will rule the galaxy"

If you say ^this^ line everything you hope for will become reality; women, money, and loads of stuff!

          I'll start: Once more....

As people said it depends. Same way for most people. If it's someone I don't know very well then most of it myself, if it was someone I knew well then maybe 50/50 or if its someone I love then most of it them/others.

Usually 50/50, at least that's my goal. Lately I've been selfish and I think about myself a lot. Mostly because of health reasons. But I want to be the person who gives of myself without drawing attention to the fact that I'm doing it.
