I think it is extremely selfish to put someone in a screwed up world without their consent. Most people want kids to have a little version of themselves, or continue their legacy. Is this normal?
Don't bother with the negative comments. I realize if people didn't have children people would cease to exist so, luckily, not everyone thinks this way.
Keep having kids, theres a billion Chinese and a billion Indians I won't stop till they cut back.
it's the job of every parent to ensure their children's life isn't messed up despite the rest of the world.
every generation has their problems and thinks they have it the worst i think.
as for "consent" that's a bit silly since you can NEVER obtain anyone's consent prior to their existence.
but if you fully decide that your world is crap and accept that as the only thing it will ever be... then yeah your children might not be protected from it. you have to believe in obtaining a better world before you can actually get one
You can't really ask an egg for consent. But I agree on the second part.
I have never thought of having kids. I never get laid either. I might even die alone.
I have thought about this ( im 16) but i think it is not normal, but never give up om sex! If u dont want kids take control pills!
thats not selfish, its actually the opposite. when people have kids they give up everything for them. they only pay attention to them and care so much for them and stop thinking about themselves. some even have to give up their jobs.

Adoption is the best alternative. Try to give someone a good life even though we all live in a world full of bullshit.
Me, I'd adopt. I wouldn't want to pass on all of my genetic flaws to my own child. So I'd adopt, because I became an orphan a month after my 18th birthday, but my sister was still 14. I'd rather give a real home to kids who've had a rough ride so far, show them this world has at least some good in it and there are things worth living for.
