To rush and cut corners as a professional

At my workplace as a graphic designer and programmer it feels like we are rushed into completing projects at a very hectic pace. I can't put the proper thought into my code and the other graphics guys and I are rushed into completing our designs. They always wind up looking terrible to us. The company loves them, but we could have done so much better. As a professional I feel like you should be able to fight for the time you need to make something just right.

I hear you, I dont like to be rushed either, especially cause in my case, I can hardly think under fire. I may be just a college student, but it sucks all the same. Sad to say, most of the time, employers don't care about quality, they just want results by the deadline. Cant say the same about college professors, cause they expect both!

Most of the time though, the company "doesnt care" cause they have no time themselves. The person who hired your company for the work is probably putting the company through the vise, and the effect (being rushed) is probably felt through everyone. They may have the same problem as you.

still, I would go to management and see if they can do anything to get you more time.

Always start with pseudocode and make it organized and correct.

Then your program should fall into place and practically write itself.

If all of you feel that way, would it be possible to take this up with management? You word it very responsibly. Instead of going 'I hate being rushed- I wanna take my time!' you say that you feel you could produce higher quality work given more time. I think tney would appreciate hearing it put like that.
