To not have your first kiss before/when you're 14?

My sister confided to me one day that she was getting picked on by other girls at school because she hasn't been kissed yet and they've been telling her she'll be 'forever alone' because of this. She's 14, I didn't get kissed till I was 17 and I'm fine! Is it normal she's not been kissed yet?

If you ask me, 14 is too YOUNG.

Not at my middle school! Kids were screwing at 12 and hooking up at 10-11. Although I was 15 when I had my first kiss. It was disgusting and I hated it. Many following being just as horrible.

I have to agree with you on that one. It is also very annoying when they have to make that our issue.

It is absolutely normal. A lot of those other girls are probably lying about their experiences to cover up their insecurities. At least your sister has some integrity and doesn't pretend she's done something she hasn't :)

At the age of 14, I'd say 99.9% of boys aren't worth it anyway.

I would agree with the 99.9% and add, when we find a woman that we would gladly die for, we only begin to realize how long we would wait for that woman to love us. Maybe we're crazy...

I completely agree. Remember to let your sister know that half of her friends are probably lying about being kissed anyways. Like I said I didn't get kissed until the age of 15. At the time I thought it was the end of my life, but then Freshmen year of high school I met a wonderful guy and we've been together for the past 9 years. <3 Let her know to just wait for the right guy and the right time. It always happens when you least expect it.

I think I'm about the only person I know who actually enjoyed their first kiss! I had known the girl for quite a long time, had been flirting for months and we had been dating "officially" for 1 month... and with all that waiting we both really *wanted* to kiss each other. We were sober, both in the sense that we weren't drunk and in the sense that we weren't giddy and over-excited :P We took our time, and it was a nice kiss :) I was 16 (very nearly 17), which I think is a lot later than most people. There's nothing wrong with waiting :)

I think a lot of people seem to forget just how long life is. When you are only 14 your "dating career" is only one or two years long at the very most (for a lot people it hasn't even begun yet). You've got 70 or 80 whole years until you're dead. You're only a fraction of the way into your relationship career and you don't need to worry about being forever alone when forever is such a long way away :)

I think that's completely normal. I got my first kiss at like 15, so I'm pretty sure she'll be fine. I'm happily in a relationship and my life wasn't ruined because I wasn't kissed before the age of 14. Tell her to stop whining.

a first kiss should be special in my opinion. not with some horny 10-13 year old boy who knows nothing about love. she shouldn't be picked on for this, and shouldn't feel bad that she hasn't kissed anyone yet.

it's a good thing your sisters not been kissed it means you wont be an uncle/aunty anytime soon. but also she gets to remain a child for a little longer and keep her innocence's for a while longer too. you should let her know not to do anything till she's ready and only when in her head she's ready.

i sometimes wish i had not kissed anyone till i was 16 but sadly i was young for my first kiss. i was 9 years old and i look back i realise maybe i should have not kissed anyone till i had grown up a bit more. possitive i was 17 when i lost my v so it worked out ok.

just make sure you look after her and keep her innocence safe from evil teen boys who only want one thing.

I was 14 when I had my first kiss. I didn't enjoy it at all. There's no point in that stuff when you are that young. I didn't actually start to become sexually attracted to people properly until I was 16. We have all our lives, no point in rushing stuff like that. Tell her to enjoy her young teenage years whilst she has them.
I was picked on at the age of 11 because I hadn't kissed anyone. I think that's disgusting. Most girls in my school were sexually active by 12/13. It is completely disgusting. I'm the one who laughs at them now. No respectful man will go a mile near them. At least I had a childhood.

There's no universal timetable that can be applied rigorously to the life of every person, and it doesn't often matter that much.

While there is no timetable, there *is* the act of being rather nasty to cover up your own insecurities, which is what the girls at your sister's school are doing. And they're probably getting it done to them for not having french kissed yet, or had a steady boyfriend, or had foreplay.

It's just a long line of people being vile to each other, and the only two people who come out of the story with any credit are your sister and you.

Mine was when I just turned 15. I felt the same because all my friends kissed at like 13. Kisses should be special, not rushed, and you should share it with the person you love deeply. It's better to have 1 sweet kiss than a million pointless kisses from random guys. Tell your sister not to worry, and to ignore all those people who are bullying her. Maybe some of the boys who say that want to share a kiss with her deep inside! :) lol

It is normal, she's only 14! You should reassure her so she doesn't rush things only to not be picked on.

I was 14 when it happened and I was one of the girls that lied about having already done it. In fact, I lost my virginity before I got my first kiss.

Haha, I'm soon 13 and when I said to my boyfriend (yes, I have a boyfriend at this age, just because we GODDAMN LOVE EACH OTHER) that I haven't had my first kiss yet he was kinda shocked... But I don't think I should have my first kiss any time soon.
Anyway, ignore those "standarts" and just be yourself.
