I am 18 and I have been through only one relationship that recently ended. I see that most people have gone through several relationships by this age, so I was just wondering if I should be hooking up more often.
Precisely, I wish people would stop defining themselves by their relationship status. I'm probably a hypocrite, because I used to do that when I was much younger, but it's such a waste. I personally think that a lot of peoplw are in unhappy and unhealthy relationships just to avoid being alone. It's a sad state of affairs in my opinion.
Hey Charli.m, I think you're spot on about this one. Sorry, but I'm a little emotional right now, because of the Hurricane Harvey stuff. We had to evacuate on Sunday night. We feel like the media totally lied to the people of Houston, because they just kept saying just to shelter in place, but after we saw how high the San Jacinto River had risen, and then heard that they were gonna open the flood gates at Lake Conroe we made the decision the get the Hell out of there. Now everything where we were is flooded. We got out just in time! I feel a great deal of gratitude for my partner's family, but the whole experience is very humbling, because that could have very easily been us and our trusty Siamese houses cat.
It is truly a not a competition, and I wish I had a dollar for every damn post of someone saying I fell for this guy/girl, and how do I get him/her to like me I'd be . It's just insane. It's truly not a competition. We are not defined by our relationship status'. I firmly believe that it's better to be alone than to waste time with the wrong person just for fear of being alone. I speak from my own personal experiences, because God only knows what I could've accomplished had I not been so overly focused on romatic relationships. Recently I've been trying to start over, and give higher education a go afain, but the start of this semester has been delayed by over a week(it was scheduled to start on Monday), and who knows they may cancel the whole semester.
Sometimes going through multiple relationships within a few years is a horrible sign. Nothing wrong with taking things slow and not rushing into another one. Save yourself the pain
If anything it means that you tried to be dedicated to a relationship and thats why you've only had one :)
Its good to take a relationship seriously and try to be loyal.
So if anything dont worry about it. Do whatever you want. Its not a competition. Enjoy your life however you want it.
Dont go by whatever everybody else does. Live it your way.
