To hate motorcyclists?

I genuinely despise people who drive motorcycles. In general, I think motorcycles are idiotic and one of the dumbest legal creations. Anytime I am behind a vehicle with a bumper sticker that says "see motorcycles" or similar, I am annoyed. In terms of safety, why create a vehicle that's less safe on just about every level? Not only do motorcycles not come with seat-belts, it's legally accepted??? There are only two wheels, which alone provides less stability than one with four wheels. At least in a significant wreck in a regular vehicle, there is an airbag and a chance of survival, however in a motorcycle anything over 40 miles or so is going to eject you and you're likely to become critically injured or die. A lot of people don't even wear helmets. So because of all of this crap, I have to drive more car lengths behind you and always be extra careful and let you be king of the road. And go ahead and speed anytime you'd like or maneuver through traffic and share lanes with other motorcyclists because you can pretty much do what you want. For the record, I also don't like extreme bicyclists who apparently believe main roads and roads in general are intended for training for the Tour De France.

Honestly, it's to the point where I have a hard time feeling sorry for someone who gets injured driving a motorcycle given the blatant risks and the fact that roads are meant for traveling from point A to point B in a relatively safe manner. Obviously, I don't wish harm for these people and I would hope for a full recovery, it's just...think about the risks before you do something. As fun as I'm sure they can be, I don't see why people don't just get a dirt bike.

    So you think that people shouldn't drive unsafe vehicles on the road.
    Would that include the p.o.s so-called "Smart Car"?
    If you were in a "Smart Car" and I hit you with my Dodge 3500, you would be only a stain on the road.
    Maybe we should all buy used Sherman tanks and drive those?
    70% of all motorcycle fatalities are caused by car drivers turning left in front of a motorcycle that has the right of way.
    I think the car drivers should be obligated to take a course in driving safely so as to not kill cyclists and bikers.

    On bad days I get ranty like this too.

    1. I absolutely fucking hate people who have high beams on 24/7, and drive close up behind you to make you drive faster. It pisses me off to no end. All it does is just make me drive speed limit or lower.

    2. I dislike extreme bicyclist as well. They pretend like they're cars and expect me to ride behind them all normal. Nope. When traffic is clear, I carefully go around them.

    3. I hate moped kids. Motorcyclist who are older, are more careful and mature. Teenagers on mopeds just drive me insane, because they're indecisive and switch lanes without care. Along with that, they think they can drive like Trinity from the Matrix and expect everyone to be cool with it.

    Ugh!!!!! Driving in general can be stressful, luckily summer is almost over, so it'll soon become too cold to ride motorcycles and such. Also, not all motorcyclist are bad.

    Studies have shown that accidents involving motorcycles are 7 times more likely to result in a fatality for the driver and/or passenger on the motorcycle. If you want to ride a motorcycle, you're obviously free to do so, but you also assume the risk of driving or riding a vehicle that is significantly more dangerous to operate. Motorcyclists should be required to have health insurance so the rest of us don't involuntarily assume the risk of your inherently dangerous choice, i.e. we don't have to pay for catastrophic injuries you may suffer if you don't have health insurance.

    Firstly, practically everything humans do carries a risk, whether its skydiving off the empire state building, or simply walking down the stairs. Bikes are dangerous, but so are cars, plus, I have noticed most riders are more careful than the average idiot in a car. A squid (Dumb Biker) will most likely Hurt/kill only themselves for their mistake, whereas a dumb car driver will most likely kill someone else in their idiocy.

    Disliking motorcycles is one thing, and yes, some people do stupid things on bikes, like the squids on hyabusas, but this is bordering on irrational hatred.

    It is nothing to do with you what forms of transport other people choose to use. Just drive safely in whatever you use.
    Lots of people ride motorcycles for lots of reasons. Nothing is cheaper to run than a small motorcycle, besides a bicycle. (do you have a problem with bicycles too?) and it's much quicker through cities not having to wait in the inevitable queues of four wheeled vehicles.
