To feel in love with someone you've never physically met?

You meet someone on a social network site. You chat a lot and get to know one another, as well as you can thru chatting. You go to the next step and talk on the phone.

This continues for six months. Due to logistics you've been unable to physically meet.

Your are both in your 40s. Is it not only normal but is it possible to feel attachment and love for one another?

It's always more special before you both actually meet. I hope feel that wY after you both meet.

Feeling "attachment" and feeling love are two diff things. I'm sure you realize this, seeing as how you're both 40+. You can become attached by simply greeting a person regularly, so of course talking for 6 months is gonna encourage the development of deeper "feelings". Remember though that it's a social network, you can't possibly "know" a person until you either live, travel, or do business with a person. Proceed with caution, good luck.

    it's infatuation

love is when you respect, care, and put the other person before you always, whatever state he/she maybe in. Now i haven't had "love" as of yet with a girl but atleast from my experience of love for my family and friends, that's how i would describe love.

also since you'vent met yet, you wouldn't know the little idiosyncrasies of each other's life which you don't know you will hate or love,yet.. so first meet, understand, then see if its love as i defined

No matter how long you talk with someone via chat, text, phone, webcam, skype, whatever, people are different in real life. Might work out, might not, but you'll have to spend real time in real life together to find out.

I fell madly, head over heels in love with someone I met online, and we planned to meet this September, which was two years after we started talking. Unfortunately, he made some terrible choices, made unforgivable mistakes, and dropped his end of the bargain, and now I'm left dealing with the heartache.

It's possible, but be very careful. /:

Im 18 and it happened to me, but we havent met cuz we were to young to move and we though it will be better to stop and look for someone who live to near us. We were livin really far lol. We still talk sometimes and its better like this. Long distance is hard after a couple of months. But for you it could work. I know it may feel weird but I guess it's a normal thing. Good luck:)

It's normal and you two are not the only ones for yure... my boy friend of three and a half year and I met in the internet first and it took over a year till we finally met phycially... Within the time we still got very attached to each other as the only thing we realy could share was talking and getting to know the other one.
    - By now we live together.

so, what I wanted to say: It is normal and it is also well possible zthat your realitonship lasts when you finally meet.
