To be talked down on

My husband talks horribly to me when he's angry. Puts me down like dirt. Does it front of our kids. Been together for 8 1/2 years 3 boys. 5 yr old and 1 yr old twins. This is been going on for along time. The verbal abuse is a lot worse. We get along great most of the time. But when argue over me asking about why he looks unhappy, it turns into a huge problem against me. He uses every name in the book. Talks over me. Tells me to shut the F up when I try to speak or defend myself. Slams things. He yells so loud our kids cry. They cling to me cause their scared. He doesn't hit me, but he does get scary yelling and slamming things. He yells when he's holding our babies and slams things as well. I always grab them out if his arms. I tell him to stop yelling in front of the kids. I tell him their watching him. That he can't act like this in front of them. He doesn't understand how dangerous it is to put this kind of stress on children. I can't continue this. Its not fair to my kids. I love him so much, but not his nasty side. He turns down getting help. If he wants to continue living in the house with our children and our relationship then he needs to get help now or its time to separate.

His behaviour is abusive not only to you but also to the children. Can you find a women's refuge or domestic violence support group for help to get out of this situation? If not for your own sake but for the sake of the kids?

Can you leave him or kick him out? Maybe you could tell him to get treatment for his rage or else it's over?

You're the woman and he's the man. So you'll take it and like it and that's the end of that.

He needs anger management or counselling. That's really bad. I hope it doesn't have a lasting effect on your kids:(

So if it was reversed and a woman is yelling, screaming, and slamming a bunch of things you better suck it up too. If not your otherwise admitting your sexist
