To be a good person, what minimum % does good have to be done?

I'm talking about what % of the time someone has to do good in order to be considered a good person. Things like being nice to a coworker, treating your friends out to eat, donating to charities and etc.

I think being a "good person" is more of a lifestyle and attitude than a quantifiable equation or a set of numerical data.

Hehe! It sounds like you're asking how many hours work do I have to do before I can clock off and go have fun.

I'd say be as good as you can be. And if you can't be good, be good at being bad.

  • You can be a good person without spending money. It's an attitude of consideration; of putting other's needs before your own.

Not BEFORE your own!! Equal to your own.

The Bible says, "Love they neighbour AS thyself" not more and not less.

I think that all we can do is try our best, and try not to deliberately hurt or upset anyone in the process.

80% is okay. If you're aiming for 90-100% at all times, you're setting yourself up for failure. Ok, maybe aim for 90 and achieve 80. There has to be some margin of error. It's like people who diet. The ones who allow themselves to fall off the wagon once in a while do better than those who simply give up completely. Let's be realistic :)

It's like the Santa effect. 50% or more, you're good. 49% or less, you're bad.
Or, I'm a sundering idiot and being a good person is a lifestyle and a choice.
I don't know. My parents gave me rocks for Christmas.
