Tmi,black coffee smell when im on my period!

Is it normal that whenever I'm on my period I smell black coffee? Girls,you know how sometimes you'll get a whiff of yourself when you're on your period? (If you're wearing a pad) well whenever I get that whiff,it smells a lot like black coffee! Have you ever smelt a smell like that? Its not a gross one.just...interesting! :-) I wonder why I smell like that!

    I have a deviated septum which causes me to get mini nosebleeds very frequently and especially when I pick off a dried buggery scab that has grown to the point of obstructing my breathing. Anyway... I have noticed that my blood has a distinct black coffee smell to it if I have drank coffee recently. I actually found this post by doing a Google search on "blood smell coffee smell".

    Caramel popcorn, yes. Somebody tell me if THAT'S normal. .-.

    Lol, I'm at a Starbucks right now and all I can think about is your period aroma. Thanks a lot :-) I'll never smell coffee again without thinking of this post.

    It's normal -- a little weird, but normal. :) Everyone's body chemistry is a little different, and that includes during menstruation. Unless you notice an unpleasant smell that could indicate an infection, it's probably something normal to your body's chemistry. I get a black coffee note too, so it's not that uncommon.

    I don't know why someone gave this IIN a "no" vote, but that person has obviously never talked to a gynecologist or an ER nurse with experience dealing with all kinds of bodily fluids.

    I do sniff my pad also not gonna lie but for me it's always towards the end of my period that it kinda sorta smells like beef crisps.
