Tired of sex

Many movies, books, articles about sex. I'm tired of that. People talk about it, want it. I'm tired of that too. Is anyone find that sex is being too much? I mean yes it's natural to have sexual desire, but if it's too much it's become cheap and less desireable. Don't you all think sex nowadays is being exaggerated?

No, it's not, because.. 1

I think that the media has done a great job into making sex "mainstream" so to speak. But I think it is way to heavily used in advertising and marketing.

Personally, sex is awesome and our society is becoming more geared towards accepting sex as opposed to condemning it. This makes me happy. I love having sex and I don't want to feel like it is a horrible thing because, if you do it safely and responsibly, it can be an immensly fulfilling and joyful experience. But the media hardly ever markets that point.

People need to learn how to start using their heads so they can get the full picture, ya know?

On the actual question, I guess I'm tired of people trying to influence how other people think about sex. People always will value sex in different, equally valid ways. Some people will think it is more important than others.

I don't mind other people valuing sex more than me, and I don't mind other people valuing sex less than me.

I do mind when people try and argue that people should or shouldn't value sex in a certain way. How someone chooses to have sex is a very personal thing, and people should have it in a way that makes them personally happy. It's nobody else's concern. So in a way I sympathise with the OP, but I don't fully agree.

    • well said. but actually I'm not trying to argue about it, just wonder if someone has the same thinking like mine. And for some point people who valuing sex more tend to push their point of view to the people who valuing sex less, so they would be influenced(even they may regret it later). It's just somehow people not tolerate other person who valuing sex less. and media made it worse (not sex education media)

Oh man I totally think sex is put out there too much. I makes so many people feel pressured to be sexually active when they're not half as active as you might think.
I personally think there's a major divide between those who are very sexually active and those who are not

Sex is ever present in society, mainly because that is the most instant way to influence the general public. It is what we think about more than anything else, and it is what we are genetically programmed for! Sex is the very basis for humans survival as a species!

Add that to the insane amount of fun that sex can present, and it only makes sense for big companies to exploit it to make a buck. Can you name anything easier to make money off of?

damn. I want to agree with both Space_Ghost and Floydzie... -_-

I think it's very present, more so than necessary...but in most cases, it's up to each individual wether they want to let themselves be affected by this omnipresence.
What i means is that I can change channels on TV, skip articles in magazines, not read the stuff online if i'm saturated, change topics or not meet with people that only think about it...you catch my drift.
