Timing and knowing the situation

Say you're a good looking, charming, clever individual with many great qualities, maybe more of them than the average person.
If you confess romantic feelings to someone before you even know each other very well or confess feelings to someone if they've already got someone else on their mind or there just simply being no chemistry what so ever..
Is it normal for this to contribute to your rejection and not necessarily mean you weren't good enough or you weren't the great guy or girl you are?

Yes it is normal. Timing is everything. I have been rejected like that before and I think is because I gave the impression that I was desperate, the other person gets totally frightened and rejects you even though they may like you.

Now I take it easy not being too pushy and I'm doing much better
