Have you ever thumbed someone down merely because you dislike them, regardless of the content of their comment???
I've seen certain people getting thumbed down across the board, even if their comment is neutral, on topic, and helpful. Somebody's doing it. Have you ever done it? What gives?

May I ask why my comment was removed? All I said was:
"The first vote you give is the only one that registers. You can't take it back. All I'm saying is people shouldn't be chickenshit. If you disagree, say why. Any moron can click a thumb down."
I haven't done it out of negative thoughts towards the person but I have done it when I see 2 people arguing so that the other person thinks they did it and continue arguing. I have no problems with anyone here but it's fun to fuck with people sometimes because their reactions are absurd.
I'd be interested to hear from one of those people that does thumb troll.
I don't thumb down, It's also rare for me to take the time to read anyone else's comments.
Yes, I do this all the time. I am a coward and don't have the guts to type out a hateful comment so I click the down thumb. I am childish and immature. Also, I am not nearly clever enough to come up with a witty retort so this is a convenient alternative. I mean, let's face it, wouldn't you rather hide behind the internet rather than face the world?

Honestly, no. I find that to be stupid. Even if there's someone I dislike, I won't do that. Kinda petty, don't'cha think?
Nope. Sometimes I've wanted to, but I don't. I've given thumbs up to people I don't like because their comments were good or correct. I thumb down for bad posts.
I hate the thumbs option or most rating systems. Why dislike a comment rather than explain why you disaprove of it, which gives the person the ability to explain their reasonings? I think it's a coward's tool mostly. Not everyone does it for cowardly reasons, some posts are funny and do deserve a thumbs up.
I myself do not use the thumbs feature anymore for two reasons:
1. I have the ability to explain to you why I disaprove of your comment and don't need to do it and hide. I am comfortable in my ability to explain why I disaprove so I do not have to hide my reasons.
2. With this whole new Karma system that the thumbs option effects a user's ability to vote is wrong in my eyes, so even if I disagree with someone completely, I do not thumb them down, even if they try to offend me. The karma system makes it so that people have the option to pander to what everyone wants to hear rather than their raw opinion, so I do not support that by not using the thumbs feature.
Thumbs down is for those that are too incompetent to articulate an intelligent response to something they may disagree with.
People are just hateful towards others. Haters gonna hate. Trolls gonna troll.
I'm a habitual up-thumber, I like opinions even if I don't necessarily agree with the opinion.

I stay true to my feelings, even with thumbs up and down on facebook.
I like to use thumbs up when I just want the person to F off, but facebook is not for me anymore.
In heated arguments, one party will not know they are losing. Thumbs from the jury help give the terse feedback that the situation calls for.
The closest I've ever done is thumb down a batch of spam comments for being spammed rather than the content of each message.

I dislike certain people, because their comments often are thumb-down-worthy. I don't dislike comments, because their authors are thumb-down-worthy.
No, in fact I often find myself thumbing up comments from people I usually don't agree with or particularly like, if I see a comment I like or that's close enough to what I was going write that it makes my contribution moot I'll thumb it up, purely on content
I've only actually disliked two people on this site and they're both gone now. That makes it pretty hard to thumbs down for that reason. Otherwise, I thumbs down when the comment is blatantly stupid only. I don't even thumbs down trolls, but I dislike when someone says something incredibly stupid.

I give a strong eyeroll to the very original, and serious thought the down-thumber put into clicking thumbs-down on everyone.
