This is really random but i need y'all's help.

I wanted to make some extra money by opening an Etsy but I can't think of a name for the store. It's going to be digital printable products like schedules, planners, to do lists and coloring pages.

Any ideas on how to go about coming up with a name? You could just throw out some random words too lol. I appreciate any help and hope you're all having a good week

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Just mash together 2 or 3 cool or abstract words that have some flow and THEN add some sort of word that ties it back down to earth toward the product you're selling.

IDK, these might not be all that great but I'd recommend just finding words that have something to do with

      -what your business provides
-what people buying your stuff are aiming to accomplish
      -and/or abstract words

And then mashing all that together into some type of flowing order

No worries! You ever decide in a name? How is it coming along for you?

If your name is Percival, "Percival's Printed Planners" would be good. No idea what to tell you if your name isn't Percival though.

Be careful with business names. IF you chose a name that is identical or similar to another one that already exists (with 1 exception) you could be served legal papers to abandon the name.

The exception is that you can always use part or all of your personal name:

Example "Bonny's Schedule Printers" as long as your name is Bonny. You can do this with either your 1st or last name.

If you are going to create an LLC or incorporate - then things get more strict and you need to do a nationwide (all states and territories) business name search to validate that you will not be using another LLC or corporation name (even if it's "Bonny's Schedule Printers").

I have 4 LLCs and did the appropriate name search before settling on their business names. Every one of those 4 businesses use either my first or last name to keep things simple.

There are several national name search sites (typical search is about $25). They are not perfect, and the one I use tends to miss a few states or territories, and then you need to go to those states or territories "Secretary of State (or equivalent) website and search those individually. It typically takes me about 2-4 hours to complete the appropriate nationwide name search and settle on my business name. Then I file the LLC papers over the internet within an hour of that (which then legally protects my business name - unless someone perchance used the same name in that hour gap).

I wish you well with this.

    • Incredibly helpful, thank you. I didn't realize how much research goes into it. I was just using the first few pages of google to see if one of the potential names popped up and then not choosing it if it did. I'll keep all this in mind though.
