When they say "cried myself to sleep".. how does that work?
I mean does this person cry then when he/she stops they fall asleep or

I think it means to cry one's self to the point of exhaustion, and then fall asleep.
Because a long crying episode is emotionally exhausting. So you wear yourself out and the body gives in to sleep.
You need hobbies, or other things to focus on. Get your mind pointed in a positive direction instead of staring at the negative all day long.
So what are you doing about your depression other than crying a lot? Which is ok if it makes you feel better but if it's long term it's time to do something else about it as well
U cry a lot, at one point stop and then fall asleep
Or that person just uses that term to say how much one cries in the night
