Pod = Latin root for foot

BiPED = 2-legged
TriPOD = 3-legged
QuadruPED = 4-legged

Why does it randomly change from pod to ped?

    Pod is Greek, ped is Latin. I have no idea why some words use a Greek base versus a Latin one. They just do.
