Think there is life outside earth?

yea is it normal to think that there is life outside earth like galaxies away? like i know in the bible it says we are the only living being in the whole universe. now i believe in god and all that but its just really hard to grasp the concept that we are the "only" living creatures in the WHOLE universe. hell we dont even know how big it is. like black holes and other dimensions and all those theories like i seriously cant imagine we are the only ones out there, where ever out there is. is this normal?

The bible is filled with stories and legends, not science. When the bible was written, all people knew was that life was hard, and in order to keep their sanity they had to hope that THIS wasn't all, that there was something else in store for them. And in order to keep people in check they had to be threatened with something worse than death because death was much more prevalent in that society that it is in ours. And what could possibly be worse than eternal damnation?

Why would "God" create an entire universe to only plant life on one planet? 95%% of what christianity preaches doesn't even make sense. Leave it to them to assert that they are the only ones that matter in an INFINITE expanse of space. Honestly, I respect Christians, I think they're good people for the most part, but I can't stand organized religion and I find it unbelievable that a society as advanced as ours still clings to these archaic ideas.

That's because there is. Most of the things in the bible should be ignored since they are incorrect.

Of course there's life out there. I mean we're only one planet...If the universe was as big as the sea....we'd only be the size of an atom!

Also, considering how large the universe is and the age of the universe, even the most unlikely event would probably have happened several times over. So if life can exist on Earth, i'm sure that there's hundreds of other intelligent life forms out there!

I have always believed that it is impossible that we are the only life in a constantly expanding universe. Though it is not likely that we will find it commonly, we WILL find other life some day. If we found water on the moon, I'd think that there would life on other planets and galaxies. About the Bible part: Most of what is in the Bible is 100%% true! But, the people didn't even know about the "New World" at that time, let alone other planets or the moon! Most of the land was not even explored yet! So I think that life does exist in other galaxies, and that we will find it one day!

It's all about coincidences and cause-and-effect. Through very fortunate coincidences, there happened to be a large rock that happened to have the right conditions to support life, and through the years evolution created more and more advanced organisms and TADAHH here we humans are with our large frontal lobes causing us to think these complex silly thoughts. So, in the vaaaaast expanse that is the universe, I think that it is very possible that somewhere, somehow, another very fortunate rock was able to have had the right conditions to support life. But honestly, in this huge universe, what are the chances that our rock, and their rock happen to be close enough for us to interact or even be aware of each other? not very likely. and what if our timing isnt even right? what if they had already died out years ago? or have yet to begin years after we die out? the possibilities are endless, and in the end, it just makes my brain hurt

My opinion is that there is life EVERYWHERE, and anything we can imagine and more exists somewhere in this multi-verse. We are definitely not the only ones. The only problem is that most places in the multi-verse are too far away to reach and make contact with.

yea i totally agree with you. like a infinite universe and god creating one tiny planet with life on it. its really hard to believe that. i guess your right about having people keep from going completely insane lol. i mean with today's technology already like maybe in 10, 20, 30 years we will find life somewhere outside earth and then idk how anyone is gonna explain that to the religious people.

      • I agree, I can't wait and in fact I am writing a novel on a concept of this and a whole morality aspect of alien life...don't ask.

We can't be the only ones of "intelligent" life. I had to put that word in quotes due to Southerners and ignorant blacks who think white people are the devil as I see on this site. For proof, look up on Google.com the words "Hubble Deep Field" and read just HOW many galaxies truly exist in the OBSERVABLE universe. To summarize it, our galaxy has over a billion stars and that is just ONE galaxy among BILLIONS of galaxies.

Okay, don't get me wrong, a vast majority of stars do not have planets that can support life and there is only a small area in a galaxy known as the "habital zone" where life is possible but even with these lower odds, it is almost guaranteed that life exist elsewhere.

But my final note is, can you honestly say that the pope or bible has never been wrong to use it as a guide for factual or scientific information? Use the book as a guide for positive reinforcement and to live a better life for others. Do not use the book for "faith" or a sence of "fear" of disobeying god.
