Think of ghosts?

So a while ago, I remember one time when I was home alone watching a movie. Before I had sat down on the couch I had left the remote on the kitchen table behind me. I was going to stand up and retrieve it when the on the TV screen I see the volume bar, and the volume started to go up. Creepy....I freeze cause the first thought was "Serial Killer!!!", followed by "Murdering Ghost". For at least an hour I sat there daring not to move and trying not to feed my fears. Finally I figure if it's either of those things I'll be dead any way (because the "serial killer/ murdering ghost" was patient enough for me to come to them instead of moving 6 1/2 Ft to the couch to strike)
I turn around and walk at a normal pace to get the remote as to not feed my fears even more by running. I pickup the remote, sit back on the couch and never mention this moment to my parents because it seems silly.
I don't believe in spirits, especially the ones that mess with the volume, this incident just seemed odd, and I thought it was slightly funny.
