Things that are about me make me depressed.

Is it normal every year when I have a birthday I become extremely depressed, not about turning older but more about not having anyone who cares. It doesn't fail every birthday is this huge let down, it's funny because I've always made a big deal out of my friends birthdays and celebrated there's but mine is always skipped over and forgotten. I woke up with suicidal thoughts this year, thinking it would be better since no one cares I'm alive it wouldn't matter if I was dead.

It's normal to feel depressed over this! I'm so sorry that people are neglectful of you!! Feeling suicidal, I think, means you're in too much pain. You should see a therapist for help! You should also tell your friends how you feel and if they don't change, you should also look into making new friends once you're feeling better and have the energy to do so!!

I don't think that exclamation marks are appropriate for this topic.

hmm okay noted. I tend to use them a lot... I've noticed it. I do think I gave the best help I was capable of and answer the best answer I was capable of to the OP regardless

    • They know that's what's great. Haha I'm even going out with one of them to celebrate their birthday in a couple weeks but that same friend didn't even tell me happy birthday. Then another shared a birthday close to mine but mine was just right before there's but my friends wanted to go out and celebrate there's and when we went out none of them mentioned my birthday.

I don't tell them things like this though because I'm afraid they wouldn't care and it would only make me feel worse.

I hope you'll see a therapist about the suicidal thoughts and I'm sorry you're feeling so badly. I'm sorry you're being left out too *hugs*

Trust me when I say that if you killed yourself it would have a massive negative impact on the people around you, my advice would be to get new friends and start over with your life without killing yourself in the process.

You seek for validation outside of yourself instead of inside. Your sense of self-worth is based on what your friends say or don't say, how hyped they are for your birthday and so on. That path ultimately leads to misery.

You hate yourself because you don't do anything. The person who doesn't seem to care if you die is you. You can't trick yourself, you have to make yourself someone worth loving. Improve yourself: lose weight, improve a skill, study harder—these are the sorts of things that build your self-esteem, and protect you from depression.
