There is a song (which is not even sad) almost instantly makes me sad

This may sound stupid but hear me out

The song Pogo by Digitalism makes me sad almost instantly (I'm talking the first few notes where I recognise the song) even though it is pretty upbeat

I added it to my playlist in November 2022, even then it made me feel kind of nostalgic I guess, but then just after that someone really close to me died and I listened to it a lot while I grieved and now I can barely listen to it without feeling pretty awful (even though I think it's a great song and I like it other than that)

is this normal or am i just a pussy lmao

Everyone has songs that resonate with them. One song that's not sad, but can make me all teary eyed is "Seein' My Father In Me" by Paul Overstreet. It's a happy/ sappy country song that pulls my heart strings and toys with my emotions.

And I think it's normal. Family is sacred to me, so any powerful songs about family are gonna make me feel more emotional.

War songs are kinda sad. Any sad civil war songs (johnny boys bones, rebel soldier) or some of the war on terror songs by SOAD can be sad.

People dying in war is pretty relatable in a weird way you can easily imagine being stuck in a fucked up situation and youre just like fucked and you kno its coming.
