Just to finally come clean with everyone, the ‘thegypsysailor’ is not a real person, it is actually a software robot. The account profile is pre-programmed to respond to posts that contain certain words, and to create certain repeating stories centred around themes about sailing a boat in the caribbean with a younger wife on board.

It's quite clever software actually and uses some fairly advanced Dataflow programming language and techniques. Dataflow software architecture consists of nodes in a kind of graph connected by directed dataflow queues and functions. It cleverly mimics real speech patterns.

The bot was also programmed to respond with the language of a typical male, in the 60 to 70 year old demographic from the USA. Some code was added where if another user ever posts anything that contains the word ‘God’ or ‘god’ or ‘religion’ the ‘thegypsysailor’ bot will automatically respond with pre-programmed phrases such as 'your evil gawd' and ‘your gawd, is evil, vile and repugnant’.

The point of the exercise was to reproduce the Turing test (the test of a computer’s ability to exhibit intelligent responses so that it is indistinguishable from a real human being).

How do I know all of this? A fellow user on this site created thegypsysailor account as part of his studies in Bachelor of Computer Science degree at University of California-Berkeley. cheers guys

No issues with Gypsysailor. I'm more concerned about the other bot Lesley that somehow malfunctioned and keeps forgetting to leave when it said it would.

      What's fast about it? A little red number tells me there's an answer and I click. Internet is too slow for movies or videos, so I browse a couple of forums and IIN.

That's fascinating. I love it. It takes all responsibility for my stupider comments away from me and makes them all the fault of this "bot".
I personally am absolved of all my foolishness and unkind words (AND any spelling and/or grammatical errors), as I didn't do or say any of it! Hip, hip, hooray!

    Complete or total preceed insults when the person has really taken the biscuit. Like if a mate spilt a drink on you then he would be a bellend, if he purposely swilled you with a pint then he would be a complete bellend. Hope that clears up any confusion.

I salute your pursuits in Computer Science, but the Turing test (guesses whether Software, or a human are talking) will never approach 50% accuracy until a parallel neural net architecture with 10^15 neurons gets invented.
