The worm.

When I'm at the beach or laying out in the sun is when I notice it the most. I close my eyes, and usually it's black (duh), but then all of a sudden I see a worm-like figure. If I try to focus right on it, even with my eyes closed, it wanders or disappears. If I don't concentrate on it, it stays. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? ONE other person in my lifetime has acknowledged that he sees "the worm" too. What is it? Is it normal?

Yeah, it is just the fluid in your eye. It could also be that random 'disease'. Don't worry about it though! It is fine!
    I see it too.

Have you ever seen family guy? - THAT episode.

"Floaters" are actually remnants of blood vessels/capillaries that supplied your developing eyes with oxygen/nutrients while in utero. They break apart close to the time of birth but remain trapped in the eye's vitreous humor (or maybe it's under the cornea. Can't remember. I've been out of school a long time).

I teach physiology, and what you describe are completely normal. But if you continue to be concerned, contact an optometrist. They should have information for you.

It's dead cells in the fluid of your eye, which are harmless and everyone has them.

Actually what you're seeing is the blind spot in your eye, all of the sunlight is shining through your eyelid and the "squiggly line" is where you cannot see the sunlight. And you can't focus on it because there's nothing to focus on.

  • i hate it.
When i look at the sky i can see some "worms" or i dunno what, like transparent tread.
And also, when i go somewhere with my bicycle, i see like a wormhole coming towards me, spreading from the place where the eye sight is sharpest away, around.
    Crazy stuff ^^

Everyone has that. Literally. Some people probably just weren't weird enough as kids to sit around closing their eyes trying to chase the squiggly lines. I think it's little particles in your eye-surface fluid, so when you move your eyeball, the particles moves with it, hence you can never place it right in the middle of your focus.
