The works of b.e. ellis have utterly carried me away

I'm 28 years old and it wasn't until this last week that I read for the first time a novel by the master moralist Bret Easton Ellis. I started with the Informers because I wanted to read a kind of book I've never read before and I'm not a big fiction fan so I thought I've heard things about Ellis and so I picked it up read it over a weekend and the followed weekend read Less Than Zero cover to cover. When I went down to Barnes and Noble today to pick up his third book, The Rules of Attraction, they didn't have it and said they would have to order it. I almost had a fit right there in Barnes and Noble. I haven't been able to work or sleep, I want to read more of Ellis' outlandish tales. Is it normal?

Yeah, I think I'm done with Ellis for a while. Since I wrote this, I've read Angels and Demons, Da Vinci Code which were to fun rides and then I read The Road by Cormac McCarthy, which I highly recommend because McCarthy write poetry and now I'm on to another McCarthy Blood Meridian. I've also picked up Anne Rice's post-conversion Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt.

I suppose it's normal, but I do think that you need to calm down a bit before you have some sort of ulcer or aneurism. Be patient, have you considered the library in the mean time? I know what it's like to have a favorite author and want the copy for yourself, but you could check it out of the library for now until B&N gets one in. You may find more obscure titles there also. Good Luck!
