The unbearable lightness of a 90's child

I am 27 yo and i grew up in the 90's. As a 90's child i find it really amusing to see that almost all situations in my life can somehow be related to two shows: Seinfeld and The Simpsons (before the latter became a load of nonsense). Has anyone else experienced that??

  • You're kind of like those people who think popular songs (pop, rock, country, it doesn't matter) are all about them and their lives.

It's a bit narcissistic, but totally normal.

You can do it with pretty much any long-running show that you enjoy if you put your mind to it.

I was born in the late 80s, and am a huge Seinfeld fan, and a huge Simpsons fan, and yes the first nine seasons were the best. These shows are still popular, because we can relate to them, we all knew a "Bart" a "Lisa" or a "George" or some other such character. I'll take any of those shows over Family Guy any day.

All the time lol. i was born in the 90's (don't really remember everything) but do remember from about '94 on. This happens to me sooo much! I still watch re-runs of seinfeld and think about all the things in my life that could be an episode. But i was still little back then, so i think the best 90's memories are the nickelodeon shows like "Are You Afraid of the Dark?", "Hey Arnold", "Rugrats", and "The Amanda Show" lol.

I'm a 80s/90s child and my life is not superficial enough to relate to consistantly relate to sitcoms. And I'm a fucking better person for that.

to tell you the truth, i seem to always relate something back to the Simpsons, really weird, im a product of commercialisation lol. I grew up in the 90's, but i was born in 1990, so, im not really old enough

  • Well, the script writers tend to try to assimilate real life situations so you do not surprise me here.
