Integrity is an outstanding value, and to a boss, it's something especially important for an employee to have.

I'd like to test the integrity of the pizza delivery guys at Dominoes. I will request a pizza to be delivered to a spot on the road right near the city limit signs (they "supposedly" don't deliver outside city limits). I'll be sitting right on the other side of the sign so that the employee has to actually cross the line to hand over the pizza.

If he crosses the line, he fails the test and I will call his boss. I will also use this as an excuse to not tip him, due to his shady dealings. If he'll cross the line to deliver a pizza, then chances are high that he uses street drugs and I don't want my tip money going up in smoke.

is it normal to test the integrity of the pizza man?

That's stupid. He crossed the line because he wanted to deliver your pizza. You told them to deliver it to a location inside the city limits and they tried to deliver it. You went and crossed an imaginary line, and expect them to not deliver your pizza, when if they DIDN'T deliver the pizza, they could be fired. That's stupid, and you're stupid.

      Im so sorry :( my car got stolen 9 months ago. It was a toyota landcruiser. Its an excellent story. So the guy I bought it from still had the key to the car as it turns out. Anyway he kept track of where I was so when I left the car on the street once when with my family. He stole the car. He took parts of it worth 30K Australian dollars. Than he called me when I was back in hurgada 4 months after he stole it. Now I didnt know he stole it but I had a suspecion. He told me over the phone that he saw the car in siwa but wasnt sure so I shall give him the license plate number. I gave it to him but told him 3 wrong ones! He said yes thats the car. I knew from that point he stole it. He said that he talked to the guy who stole the car and he wants me to give him 10K and the car license and everything. I had no choise. I knew the guy who I bought it from (metwalle) had stolen it but I wanted my car back so I gave him the money. 3 weeks later it arrived in alexandria. Without a motor and the beforementioned parts... I fixed it now and tuned it up again but it costed me like 50K EGP plus the 10K bribe to get it...So the moral here is always put a expensive car in a garage :/ egypt is dangerous... Oh and the police didnt do anything. No police here just army. And the army only helps when someone is killed. If not they dont care...
      
      SO how was the story. All this happened about a year ago...was Intressting though.

    Speaking of integrity - I find the integrity of your pizza experiment questionable.
    
    I would like you to think for a minute and put yourself in the shoes of that pizza worker and think, how would I feel if someone done that to me? What if I threw that pizza box across that line knowing it questions my integrity to provide good customer service?

It's more a test of intelligence rather than integrity. I think most people would look at your location and work out exactly what was going on.

Also, because the orders are trackable online, the drivers are on a very tight schedule and driving out to the city limits would push them back.

Because of that, I'd say, "You've got one second to step over here and get your pizza or you're not having it. Oops, too late. Bye" knowing that my manager would support me for keeping all the other customers happy at the expense of someone you was testing his employees.

  There's nothing near the city limits signs, no buildings or anything. My plan was to pretend I'm a worker who's digging something or other over there. Pop on an orange vest, grab a bucket and shovel, and bam!

You are such a jerk. Leave the pizza guy alone. Honestly I feel.bad for these people they get messed with so much. I swear if I was the boss and heard you did that my employe I would walk down to location and punch you myself and tell my delivery man "thankyou for being a good employe". It pisses me off you people like to mess with these service people. They are doing the job they are given let them be. I heard of them being,beaten,robbed,and killed. Well in all honesty its not a bad plan, though I think we can improve upon on it by timing it so that a female worker delivers (I am assuming you are male). This way you have a pizza to share, and perhaps a chance to lose your virginity (which clearly remains very much intact).

You know what's more important in an employ? Willingness to do even more than is asked for them and desire to maintain a high quality service. This includes going the extra yard with the pizza.

  You're the second person to say that. I'm wondering, exactly how long do you guys think I'm spending on coming up with these ideas? I don't TRY to think this stuff up, it just comes naturally to me. As I told BurnaBaby above, I'm gifted in this area. This idea came like the others do, like a lightning bold of genius striking my brain. I'm minding my own business and BAM. Then I have the urge to tell others, so I come here and make a post. I do realize most of you will probably laugh because it's just bizarre and not something the ordinary person would ever think of, and that's OK. I WANT to entertain you. I've found a purpose for my oddball brain. So don't think I'm purposely trying to make up silly stories to post, I DON'T try. And don't think I post for my amusement, I do it for YOU primarily. My ideas, while many are far-fetched, are serious to me (I could see myself doing any given one of them, no joke) but I have the ability to see that they're wacky to you guys and that you get enjoyment out of them.
