The quiet game.

I have four kids, girls triplets age 5 and a three year old son. Sometimes they can get so annoying and loud. So when I need peace and quiet I tell them let's play the quiet games. Whoever is quiet for two hours get $5. And it's funny because when I tell them to be quiet without saying I'll give them money they are loud. But when I say quiet time they are perfect little angels. Is it normal they don't listen without my bribe of money?

It's normal because you've established a conditioning: the money being the stimulus for the desired reaction (being quiet). Going to take some time to erase that, but they're young enough that it shouldn't take too long.

Better approach is to find good outlets for their energy. Refrain from raising your voice and focus on praising positive behavior moreso than reprimanding the bad. Kids want your attention and focus, and they deep down want to please you. Make sure they know that good behavior gets them more affection.

Yeah, that's pretty normal. I would think about different incentives than just money though. It's important to mix it up some I think. Most kids aren't that hard to outsmart, you just have to be clever.
