The price of hair

Is it normal to be annoyed when hairdressers/barbers don't display their prices in their window? I generally hate the whole process and stick to the same one if I can, but when I have to choose a new one the first thing I want to see is how much it costs. It really annoys me when I have to go inside and actually ask how much it is, surely any business should display how much they charge for their service, otherwise it makes me think they have something to hide, i.e. it's really expensive. If they can't be bothered to display their prices then I can't be bothered to go in, and will go somewhere else. Normal?

You are dead right. If they don't want a big sign they should at least have discrete pricelists. A lot of businesses in all sorts of fields thrive on the fact that people don't ask until they have booked etc and a lot of people would be too embarassed to ask prices and then say no to them and walk out.

I thought when I saw the title you were going to be complaining generally about how much our hair costs us. I can honestly say a woman's biggest bain in life is hair. I think over my lifetime the hair on my legs has cost me more than the hair on my head in money and time and definitely in PAIN! Then as I get older and think I don't need to deal with it so much I get the hair on my husbands back to deal with too. What a pain!
