A guy I knew in high school has recently moved near me. I had a gigantic crush on him and told him so a couple times. He never felt the same way, but we were really good friends for a while and hung out a lot.

Anyway, he's all of a sudden back in my area and I can't stop thinking about him! I want to call him and ask him to hang out or something, but that old fear keeps coming back. I still really like him, but I'm terrified of letting him know.

Should I let him go? Call him up, ask him out, and see if we hit it off now that it's eight years later? Is this normal?!

    May I just say that is very admirable, if there was a girl like you in my life who still likes me after eight years, I would run after you big time. But he may nowbe a very different man. Start from scratch, ask him out for coffee and see what happens next. And please, this time, don't ever let him go.

    I say if you happen to bump into each other make conversation. Tell him that you should see each other again. See if he is even the same person. You never really know.

    Call up this guy and go for it. You only hav one life to really live and if u just sit by and let him go then ull never know. Even if ur turned down theirs plenty of fish in the sea and u r a strong and independent person. Go out and live ur life.

    8 years is the long time and much is different now. Yea, I would say go out with him and see if you still like him and if you still do, let him know... You got nothing to loose :)

    He's not the same person you used to know, and you are not the same person that used to have a crush on him.
    Try throwing all that old baggage out and start from scratch. Don't get back into that old failed rut.
