The news about chris makes me really upset
Honestly feels like the end of an era. My brain is processing it like it's an actual tragedy and I'm so upset because I just didn't expect he would do that, iin?

Maybe the best you can take from this is accepting a couple of facts that many people find difficult.
First, no matter how well you believe you know someone from their online presence, all you ever really know is the façade that they choose to present to the world. Second, avoid having heroes and never, ever have a hero whom you "know" only from the internet; heroes are only people, and they'll almost always disappoint you in the end.
Chris Chan is a personality on the internet who was originally known for creating an OC named Sonichu back in like the early 2000s. This person also had some very strange behavior over the years. Apparently, he sexually assaulted his defenseless elderly mother which is why he was trending on the internet recently. I only know about this shit because people on Facebook like to bring him up once in a blue.
Learn to seperate art from artist.
Who a person is in life doesn’t make any of their art worse.
Those allegations are horrifying and feelings of shock, sadness and disgust at this deeply disturbing news are certainly valid. As a former Marilyn Manson fan I went through the same emotions after the mass abuse allegations were made against him earlier this year.
When we become attached to a celebrity we start to assume that they share our moral compass and if it’s revealed that they don’t it often feels like a betrayal.
If you feel your are now unable to engage with Chris’s work that’s understandable, if you want to separate art from artist and continue to read their work without financially supporting them that’s ok too.
