The miracle drug

Pot Is The Cure!

Lately I've been experiencing these insanely intense pains in my stomach and lower abdomen area. I've been to my doctor, and I'm waiting on test results (could take up to 6 weeks). Sometimes the pain is SO bad, I feel as though I asm going to die. So I tried smoking some pot. Guess what? The pain went away almost instantly. This isn't just a one-time thing. I've tried it probably 10 times or so, and when I do, I always see positive results. So maybe pot is the cure to many of our problems. Does anyone else think this way? I find it truly amazing. I've got more pains in my stomach again (right now) so I am looking forward to going home and lighting up. Is it normal for pot to make you feel so much better? Maybe it's a miracle drug. One thing I know is these pains certainly aren't normal.

Pot itself isn't addictive, like nicotine, but the relief and euphoria that you get are. Tell the doc that it helps, and as soon as you get straightened out, leave it behind. It is still against the law

Weed changes chemical balances in your head. It messes with your dopamine receptors and makes you generally more happy. It does work as a pain reliever sometimes because it relaxes you and so you don't feel the pain as much. Bud is more than that though, when you smoke enough you can tap into a different state of mind; a higher consciousness that gives you different perspectives on everything you see and hear. Music is more entrancing and everything you look at uses a stronger creative view to comprehend what you're seeing. That's what I know about weed.

    • Apparently a very small amount of people are perscribed medicinal marijuana. The odds are almost as bad as trying to win the lottery, or so I've heard.

Marijuana treats many illnesses. :) I smoke to lessen the pain from acid reflux and a failing gallbladder and to treat my insomnia. It helps glaucoma, migraines, and recent studies have shown tumor reduction in mice.

Erowid has a lot of good information, and there are plenty of websites endorsing medicinal marijuana where you could get more info on all of it's medicinal properties. I can't even remember all the conditions it treats.

it seems to have the opposite effect for me.

one time i was getting high in the woods with a friend, and i had some kind of a sore on my foot. like a callous or something. smoking the pot made the pain more accute. i think it depends on the pain, though, because i know pot is a muscle relaxant. so it may work on muscke-related pain (like stomach) but not on cuts or bruises.

that's really good that it's helping you in the mean-time.

but make sure you get the diagnosis so that you can get long-term treatment.

I recently had surgery with horrible post surgical pain. My Dr had prescribed the painkiller Dilaudid, which is supposed to be one of the very strongest on the market. It did nothing to relieve my pain, I have never been so miserable in my whole life. Then I thought I should try some pot. I took one puff, within a few minutes my entire body started to relax. I waited awhile then took another puff, within minutes my pain was entirely gone. There is a reason that pot is prescribed medicinally, it is a very good analgesic. I have smoked pot for years, but only once or twice a month, no one could ever describe me as a pothead. I think people who oppose the medicinal use of marajuana are doing so for selfish reasons. If you have ever experienced watching a loved one suffer through a painful terminal illness when nothing would ease their suffering, you might think differently. Even in my own case, if it helps people manage post surgical pain, why not use it? As drugs go, I sure it is one of the least harmful in the long run. If this drug were either legalized or decriminalized, I bet we would also see a drop in violence from the drug cartels who control the sale and distribution of marajuana.

    • Wow I'm so glad it helped relieve your pain. It's amazing how well it works. I am also not your typical pot-head. I smoke it occasionally, and I'm still smart and "level-headed."

Just like any pain reliever, pot does not "cure" anything. It might make you not feel the pain for a while, but it's not going to get rid of the problem causing it.

I think pot might just make you forget you have the pains until they go away, or something like that. I'm not sure, I've never tried it myself. But I know they're mind altering or something like that. So yeah, it's totally normal that it's going to make you feel better, just like any other drug you might take. But it is illegal, unfortunately, so just make sure nobody knows you're using it that you don't trust.

it didn't exactly "mess me up" permanently, but i didn't like how it felt and i couldn't get a handle on anything when i was high. ive had so many bad trips where i felt like i was going insane.
