The message at the top of is it normal when signed out

A post from is it normal is being performed live onstage at the pit in NYC may 8th and 9th

What the fuck? Everyone cool with this?

Anyone else paranoid that their image/face and post is going to be part of a stand up for people to laugh at?

If I was concerned about people seeing and and sharing something, I wouldn't put it on the internet. If some comedy group that rips their material off the internet because they can't write their own material wants to read something I wrote, I don't care.

They're using an IIN post for comedy? The user won't be identified, will they? See, this is why my picture is a fox and not myself.

We do not need this publicity. If the world finds out about us, we will turn into Yahoo.Answers.

Something like this has happened before. I was not happy about the idea and thought it was stupid but I think it was just so lame that no one ever spoke of it again and nothing more came of it. I still think it's stupid.

That's probably why he's made the ad only available to those who aren't logged in, unlike his previous similar announcements, including that retarded future parents survey.

      What a fucking cunt.

I left IIN for over a year because of it. I'm considering leaving here permanently.
I submit posts with the assumption that they are free to the public. I don't mind others getting entertainment out of it. What I do mind is others making money off us. I think it's morally and ethically wrong. They should write their own material.

Aw Virgil you can't leave! Who will make me laugh on IIN if not you?

It's called inspiration. What do you think late night talk show hosts do? Letterman, Leno, Fallon, Kimmel, Stewart, Colbert, etc. They take stuff from tv and internet and life and make fun of it. And they make a lot of money.

Letterman, etc... hire writers to write jokes about the world around them. And when they do they pay their writers. They come up with ideas. They don't just lift it off the internet.

Meh. I'm not concerned at all about it.

Hey guys! I'm one of the creators of Blogologues-- the show that's performing an IIN post. Just wanted to let everyone know that our show doesn't intend to make fun of anyone, and the audience doesn't see the actual post or anyone's image, though the sources/sites are credited throughout the show. It's a comedy, yes, but as theater dorks, we're very interested in how new media is changing storytelling. We take text word-for-word from the internet and then theatricalize it in some way. If any of you are in NYC, we hope you'll come check it out! Thank you.

'Theatricalize' it in someway is a bit vague. Can you elaborate?

I'm wondering what the artistic merit is here?

Well...the quality of the site going down fits nicely with the quality of their work.

        Win-win for them.

Always a lose for us :(

How would you feel if it was your post?
I mean, it could be.... seems like the person wasn't asked or notified. There's just this blanket notification.
Personally, I'd probably be happy - but there's kind of a principle at stake. I'm no intellectual property lawyer..

There are 2 posts I've seen about this. People are really upset about this? I can say it really is the least of my worries.
