One day my neighbor was putting together this storage shed kit in his yard. He got really frustrated with it and started yelling that there was no hole where there should be and then he said "DAMN THOSE FUCKING JAPANESE!!". He's really stupid and I guess he thought the shed was a Japanese product.

It was one of the funniest things ever.

is it normal for people to curse the Japanese for making difficult sheds?

Not only is that a bit racist, I'm wondering how accurate it is too. Did it really come from Japan?

I ask because I lived there for a while and... frankly the attitude I saw most often was of taking pride in one's work. So I have to wonder if this shed was indeed Japanese made... if it was as shitty as he says, or if it's a DIY-issue instead.

    Exactly how was it obvious? Many items like that ARE foreign made. It may be clear to you since you can see the shed, but that doesn't mean it's clear to everyone else.

      Foreign made, not "Japan Made", though. I implore you to find a storage shed kit from Japan. While one MAY exist, the likelihood of any given storage shed in average USA being a Japanese import is virtually none. Hence, OBVIOUS.
      
      It's OK, he's my neighbor and I'm quite sure of his basic intelligence level.

    If you look at skin-color only, no. However if you look at facial features then yes, it's very distinctive.

      The Japanese aren't really any more physically distinctive compared to other East Asians than, say, Norwegians are to other Europeans. With that said, if someone were to say "Those fucking Norwegians!" would you consider that racist as well?

        It's not "pc" ... it's just common sense. Not all Asians look alike. Unless one blindly assumes it without actually opening their eyes to look.
        
        In fact some Asians don't even look Asian at all. (Filipinos are great examples of that!)
