The internet ruined my reading attention span

Is it normal for constant use of the internet to ruin my attention span? I used to be able to read stories easily without much hassle, but ever since I started using the internet too much I can only pay attention to a block of text for a short while and even then only skim through it. I have lost most of my motivation to read long sentences and interpret them quickly, and now it takes me much longer to get the message out of reading. I used to like playing RPGs much but now I find myself skimming through the text and pressing buttons constantly to get past them.

Is this a normal experience?
