My ex boyfriend , now my closest male friend basically admitted that he THOUGHT I only liked him because he is from the UK and I'm from the US.

We were both in college when we met and he asked me to pretend to be british numerous times and he pretended to be american which somehow must've led him to believe that I was mainly attracted to him because he's from the uk and has a british accent?

This hurts me because I still like him, but now he's dating another British girl and he admits that shes just "alright". When he told his friends about me while dating me, he told them I was "amazing" and they used to ask me all sorts of questions. His friends never even talk to his girlfriend and he doesn't even hold his girlfriends hand!!!!but he still holds mine!!!

He's been with her 6 months now. I still love him loads but he seriously convinced himself that I dont love him for him and just for his accent. This hurts me because I love him FOR HIM and the british accent isn't even my favorite so what gives???

How do I tell him!!! We hang out at least once a week and he still crushes on me (he told me to my face last week and his friends also told me that he talks about me all the time), thank you.

    i had a crush on my best friend and even though i only see him as a brother now, it never felt akward reminding i had a crush on him. nothing will change to worse)

    Sounds like he's playing cat and mouse. He "has" you as a friend, ignores your feelings, dates others - makes a big drama with his friends - are you sure he's worth pursuing?

    Sounds like he doesn't know what he wants and he's obviously only settling for the girl he has now. There must be a reason he feels so strongly about the way he thinks you feel towards caring for him... I agree with the last comment...you need to let him go if he can't trust why you truly care for him without I having anything to do with his accent...plus, he's truly insecure with himself (at least this is how it sounds as an outsider looking in)

    Wish you the best of luck finding someone that takes your love towards them more seriously..and be happy girl..life's too short to sweat the losers that don't believe they had a good thing right in front of them the whole time.

    Tell him u love him for him. Tht if he keeps being this moron then he can't keep playin with u caz ur worth more. I mean war kind of a dumbass wld actually thk u don't like him for him after uve told him u really liked him? Maybe there's another reason behind this
