The fugitive awards?

I think there should be an awards system for fugitives from justice.

The categories could include:

most daring escape
longest evasion time
best disguises
most children had while on the run
most ingenious
longest distance traveled

Those who live a full, long life after escaping receive the equivalent of a Purple Heart medal upon their death, and special mention in the fugitive archives.

I don't see why not, I doubt it would change anything for the worse. Those that are going to escape are going to do it and give it their all and do whatever it is they are going to do regardless of any awards system.

Good idea! 41
Bad idea! 45

Besides the fact that glorifying crime is always a great idea, how would we know a lot of those answers? Many you could only award to people you'd caught because otherwise you'd not know the answer (like most kids had on the run), but they'd be a failed fugitive if they got caught :P Haha, you'd be rewarding crime *and* failure! xD

    • Well, yes, naturally many of the awards would be given after capture. And getting caught doesn't make the escape itself any less awesome or ingenious.

The best fugitive is the one that was never chased because they were never found out. You propose awarding the failures.

    • To be a 'fugitive', one must get caught, escape and/or be wanted. So...yeah...um, what?

Bad idea. Glorify destructive human beings. As if the human race isnt destructive enough..
I could see how this could be entertainment. But I think it should stay fiction.

Real cons are modest. You tell someone, your caught.

I think it is more of a challenge rather than an award.. Haha.

I nominate Whitey Bulger for all categories.

I agree, Whitey wins hands down. He was on the lam almost 10 years before anyone knew who Osama was.

That said, I can't go along with glorifying Whitey. If you learned the details about his life, you'd know what an absoultely evil evil bastard the man was, up there with the most horrible serial killers in history. He'd torture and kill anyone for a buck or to keep them quiet.

Damn my memory! I need my books to refer to to answer this but they are not at my disposal at this time. Hmff. Questionable idea by the way
