The fuck-up clerk...what to do???

I frequent a loal gas staion for everything from beer to smokes to lotto to gas, whatever, it's close and I go there a lot.

There's a clerk there who is a complete retard. No shit, every single time I've been in there and had him as a clerk he fucks up my order. I'll say '2 of those' or 'Yes, the 100's', and he'll fuck that up by giving me one and they're shorts. He gave me the wrong change once. He fucked up the order of the guy in front of me once, overcharged him, and then when it was my turn, fucked up mine too by wayyyyyy undercharging me, and being honest and having customers behind me I had to be honest and tell him.

He's a complete fuck up, and I'm not joking when I say every single time he has served me, something has gone way wrong.

I go to this place a lot, and it's really starting to piss me off and it's a big inconvenience, so what should I do? Should I report him? I'm tired of this shit. It's a waste of my time and it's so aggrivating because I have to watch every little thing he does.

I've already brought to his attention, as had the man that I saw him fuck up on, his errors, every single time. He hasn't improved.

The worst thing about it is that he's ALWAYS there when I go there so I'm stuck with the asshole. The only good thing about him is that he doesn't ever ID me but hey, I'd rather be ID'd than overcharged.

    It doesnt like its the case here, but he may not really care all that much either, I mean if he is making $7.50/hour he aint paying a mortgage and damn sure aint supporting a family on it.

    I know when I worked in retail I didnt care if a customer's order was fucked up or if they were happy with the service at all. Of course I could physically do the job without fucking up, but still....

    I feel bad for the guy, seriously -they don't hire people with academic education of high IQ at these places anyway. But still -he should function, if he doesn't report to the manager.

    Learn to accept his undercharges and keep pulling him up on the overcharges. Put all the money to one side and either have a night out on him or return it in a lump sum to the owner when you report him.

    If it's really THAT big of a deal, I'd say yeah go ahead and at least inform a manager of how inept he is. But if you could avoid him by going to a different store, that would be an easier option.

    Funny you mention this because I work in retail as well and I see this type of ineptitude ALL of the time.

    I work with a man who, to put it politely, doesn't have an eye for detail, a memory, or any ability to work things out. Every single thing he does is wrong. I'm not talking rocket science here, I'm just talking about things like reading, writing, adding up the numbers three and five.

    However, get him talking on certain subjects and he's immensely knowledgeable. His brain just doesn't do detail. He shouldn't be in the job. Your clerk shouldn't be in the job. It's not for them.
