The american language has disintegrated into monosyllables

I have noticed that the English language has disintegrated into monosyllabic verbiage. This is odd considering I see people reading all the time. However when you speak a 3 syllable word, they all stare at you like you just farted. I don't get it. It's such a marvelous language full of such varied words. It's why I like the movies from the 30s and 40s so much because they used words that evoked images and feelings. Unlike today's movies which consider guttural sounds a conversation. This also speaks volumes about today's politicians and those that listen to them.

I'm not exactly following you here. The English language is polysyllabic, not monosyllabic. So I'm not sure what you're talking about. Chinese is a good example of a monosyllabic language.

That is the first time I've ever, in 60 odd years, heard anybody say or even suggest that the English language in general, or the set of dialects of the English language native to the United States are "such a marvelous language". It's more like a hodgepodge that most non-native English speakers consider absurdly difficult to learn.
