The after life: questions

Ever wonder what happens to you after you die? I believe in Heaven and Hell (the afterlife) and I wanna know if when I go to Heaven, will I be the age of when I died?? Like will I spend the rest of eternity as a wrinkly old 80-some-year-old? Or can I choose the age I would like to be again? Like 18 or 27? It's something I think about a lot. I don't wanna cross over to the other side as a wrinkly old hag and be like that for the rest of eternity... That's just scary! Also, when you die and go to Heaven, are you reunited with your old mate and family? What if you get divorced/widowed and remarry? Which spouse do you end up with???? So many questions!!! But I can't find answers. Anyone else wonder about this????? And is it normal to think about it so often?

I think it's normal to think about what happens when we die. Every person who has ever lived has done it. However, I think it's stupid to believe in the "traditional" views of heaven and hell. Like people think when you die you just go to this place where you walk around as the person you were on Earth and see all your dead relatives and stuff. I mean, do you really want to spend eternity as YOU, with the same family and everything? Don't you think you would get a little sick of being you after a few thousand years in heaven?

So yeah I think there is some sort of afterlife but heaven and hell as most people view it is just dumb

To be entirely honest I do not believe in god, or any other religion of that kind, but yet I believe in forms of "afterlife".
The only thing I can suggest is, killyourself at your favourite age, don't get married before you get "up there" (so you can have multiple relationships) or just make sure you get "down there" so it won't matter.....
    I'm just kidding....

    oooohhhhhh!!!!!!

Close... so close guys and girls, but your forgetting a fundamentle principle:

    Death.

    Very very simple pre-school(objective) maths:

Our genes (DNA) + cultutre = *building blocks (bb)

Life = current carrier of *bb

*bb are billions of years old. why?

parents *bb --> us --> future *bb

(building blocks 'taken on' from previous generation and 'passed on' to the next)

    note:
Parents received bb from their parents. Who received bb from their parents who recieve... etc etc etc
    also note:
Genes within gene pools proliferate, adapt and evolve.

To summarize: We're only the CARRIERS of the our precious cargo... the *bb.
life = current carrier of *bb.
To suggest an afterlife, one is hypothesizing an event post existent of life. but life flourishes in all shapes and sizes around us, and has done for millions of years.

    Still dont get it??

Does a car die? does a memory card die?
put simply: no. (For better or for worse) they are upgraded. They are replaced wtih a newer model. they have completed their assignments of carring cargo. job done.

btw... We are all lottery winners!!! when a man and a woman concieve: (genetically) there are over 8 million possibilities!!!!!

    2 (alleles) x 2 <23 times!(chromosomes)>

Just be glad you were born!

In my opinion, it's normal to think about these things from time to time. But it's a lot better to focus on whats your plate at this point of time. If we worry about these types of things too much, we put ourselves through torture and misery, I'd love to live my life like this, but I'd be a true hypocrite if I said I did.

Bahahahahah if you believe in the afterlife go ask a priest. There is no proof available to say what the afterlife you speak of will be like exactly only speculation. It's a question that cannot be answered with a 100% definitive answer as no one has went to the afterlife and came back to tell people all the details. Some of the questions you asked, my old priest/pastor attempted to answer by using the standard Christian bibles answers. When your in heaven you are your soul not a body there is no pain no hate only love if you can see people from your life on earth you will only love them. You don't have the human faults such as judgment and hate that we have now. It is also not an actual place you will wander around it's a state of being and so on so on. Go to church, read a bible or ask a religious leader. Personally I hope there is nothing after death because an eternity of anything is hell in my mind if heaven is real and it's true that everyone only loves each other forever then I feel like I wouldn't have free will I wouldn't be me anyway so I don't care to much, I just want to be at peace.

Thanks for your comments. Yeah I've been to church, read the Bible, etc, etc, etc. I really wish there was more proof. I mean, I'm not doubting the Bible... but I just have so many questions, and there really aren't any answers! I guess I look too deeply into things sometimes...

Look too deeply? You are looking about as deeply into the truth of things as a lilyweed on the surface of the pacific ocean.

Yeah you can be whatever age you wanna be in Heaven, and don't worry about the other things, God will take care of it, nothing bad happens there.

There are answers and they are in the Bible , you just have to go to the ones designated by the Creator to give you clear understanding of it, there is one nation of people whom Jesus taught the laws of God to, and they were to teach the other nations they alone have the answers to the questions that you ponder, but are not recognized by society but they are and have been among you since the beginning,

I hope that, do not be fanatical religions.
    read this:
and he that works a righteous deed – Whether man or woman – And is a believer – Such will enter the garden (of bliss): therein will they have abundance without measure.
    interpretation of the meaning):
"And some of them draw near to others, questioning, saying: ‘Aforetime, we were afraid with out families (of the punishment of Allaah
"And their Lord has accepted of them, and answered them: Never will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female: ye are members, one of another: those who have left their homes, and were driven out therefrom, and suffered harm in My cause, and fought and were slain – Verily I will blot out from them their inequities, and admit them into gardens with rivers flowing beneath; ... A reward from Allah, and from Allah is the best of rewards."

it's really normal to think about this ...but you will go to heaven only if you do good things and they must be really good. if you go to heaven(inshallah)you will stay with your beloved ones you will get anything you want. ...they say that in heaven we are going to be all in the same age and it could be from 27-37 i'm not really sure.they also said that we are going to be beautiful just as joseph were...and for men they all going to married with the most beautiful woman called(hawer al ain or poplar eye)it means when you look at her she is everything you were looking for ...they said that she is from diamonds ...they also say that we are going to be pure as snow (there is no bad feelings in our hearts)...we will have rivers from milk honey wine ..you will meet only the good people it doesn't have to be family or friends because some of them might go to hell.
i hope i help you .forgive me for my bad english.
P.S:what i've said is just a little from what i know and it's all real.i believe in it !!

Have you seen, What dreams may come?

    You NEED to watch that.

Basically, you become the truest version of yourself. If you're an old soul and the sort of person who always feels their actually a lot older than they are, then in heaven, their image would reflect that. If you're hung up on your looks, then sure, you'd probably end up looking like the version of yourself you truely believe you are. But just realise. In heaven, know one will give a f*ck what you look like. It's just not important up there. Sexual desire doesn't exist etc. And friend wise, it's not like there would be a distance issue, you would be able to see whoever you wanted at whatever time.
Time doesn't really exist in heaven. That issue is a little hard to explain, the sort of understanding that you won't "get" until you're there I'm afraid.

Oh, and you can't lie to people. They will just "know" who you are. So if you cheated on someone, they'll know what your soul is like. You can't hide it.

It's all very complicated, but fair. You'll understand what love and such is in a much easier manner. 2 similar souls just get drawn together... etc etc.

Good times. You'll totally love it.

Well I'm a Christian so i assume you are to since you believe in heaven and hell. No one knows about the afterlife. Guess we'll all see someday. Whenever that might be again no one knows. :)

LIfe on earth is composed of romance, aging, life, and death. I've been told from folks more spiritual than myself that we receive new bodies (probably not in a worldly form---so that eliminates the "old hag" theory). Romantic love brings many worldly perils with it....jealousy, envy, lust: These things could never be present in a heavenly place, so you will know them...and love them....but I don't think that the romantic aspect has any place in such a perfect place.

If you are not your body or mind then none of those "I won't have freedom" problems of the mind need to exist unless you choose them to.

I believe that people are reborn after death. Their personalities are made up of who they were and what they did in their past lives. That's why each generation gets more and more complicated (after all, we supposedly started out as cavemen). Today we can fly 100+ people in one airplane, send robots to other planets, etc. That's why life is so much more complicated now than it was let's say..100 years ago. But thats just my theory of what happens to us when we die. And here's my other theory: we just die. Fall asleep and never wake up. You choose.

Well stated. I'm kinda hoping for the fall asleep and never wake up again. If the world gets even more screwed up, I don't wanna be here!
