That i think i'm stupid for this?

So, we all know how theres pollution in the world and stuff. The other day my dad was telling me about the glaciars/ artic poles, he told me they were melting. And I instantly thought that if the poles melted then the world would drown because we'd be surrounded by water. I usually get paranoid about things, so I couldn't get this out of my head and came up with the crazy idea that maybe is the goverment did something so that humans would live in water starting now, then maybe we would evolve. Like we would adapted to the enviprnment and grow gills and stuff, sort of like a fish...
I don't know why I got all worried about it then I went around saying this to people at my school and now I'm being mad fun of. Also, I fell really stupid for thinking that could actually happen...
But is it normal to think that or am I just stupid?

Don't feel stupid for it. But you do seem like you have quite an imagination, and there isn't anything wrong with that.

What you need to do is look into possibly being a writer! You have a wonderful imagination that could create some interesting books! Who knows, you could be the next J.K. Rowling, or Stephenie Meyer, or Suzanne Collins!

There's nothing stupid about it. It's good that you're becoming more aware of these things. If more people became conscious of the crisis, perhaps us humans would be able to advert it? If the world did flood, there would be a few possibilities. One is to evolve or build a colony underwater. The other is to find another planet often called "planet x" or a super earth (not Niburu). But there's the risk that we might not learn from our mistakes and end up ruining another planet. Then in the end we would continue to look for other "homes" and sadly destroy those too.

So what you're saying is, if the government made us live under water, we will evolve into mermaids?

It's all hype. Yes the oceans are rising, they have been doing this since the last glacial maximum. There is not enough ice in the ice sheets to inundate most of the land surface, even if they melted completely. Only people who live in low-lying coastal areas need to be concerned, especially if that area is prone to hurricanes (typhoons, monsoons), tsunamis, protected by dykes (levees) or is prone to coastal erosion.
