That i can read into peoples' souls?

As I have gotten older I have noticed that I have an incredible ability to "read people". Specifically I can analyze people really well, I can identify their personality (sometimes I can even pin point their Myers Briggs personality type). I can even tell what people are thinking by their eyes and body language, even subconscious thoughts. The more I know someone the stronger reading I am able to pull from them. I have also been able to pick up on people who have this same ability as me but I have not met many. I knew someone in high school who was afraid of me because I was able to do this (read peoples' thoughts and predict their behavior).
I tried researching it and came up with nothing. Is it normal to have this ability?

Your subconscious mind notices all of these micro movements and mannerisms not normally observed consciously which it catalogues and references against past patterns.
You are lucky enough to be able to access this portion of your mind while awake.
Never take for granted the assumptions you make about people. You will always come across exceptions to patterns you are observing.

    Congratulations.
    You're a sensitive.

    • Great, thank you. That makes a lot of sense and thanks for giving it a name.

It can seem freaky at times though right? When you know things but can't put your finger on exactly 'why' or 'how' you know things.

I'm pretty sure that people like us got pretty much burnt alive not too many generations ago.

Good thing we're all civilized and such nowadays eh?...

You think you have this ability but unless you've checked out each item of information with the other people you're fooling yourself and have delusions of grandeur

    • The asker here - I don't know that I would go as far as to say that I am delusional but to be honest I never really considered that before. Maybe I just over analyze?
I can't read everyone and I don't like to do it to everyone anyways. I'm just really good at reading body language and feelings.

I'd still like to know if you ever check out if what you believe to be your perceptions about people are in fact correct. If not, you're engaging in a pointless past-time of no significance whatsoever

There is no such thing as a "soul". Who we are depends on our genetic makeup and neurological abilities.

wow, that's really cool! maybe it's not "normal" (as in, maybe not a lot of people also have this experience/ability), but it's certainly a gift! embrace it! :D

I've heard stories of people able to look into the minds of others through a sort of self imposed telepathy. If you wouldn't mind, I would like to ask you a few questions.

I call shenanigans. If you honestly believe what you are saying, then I think you are delusional.

Do you ever read a persons mind and the only picture or thought you get is that of a brussel sprout?

I try to observe and analyze people in public all the time but I get paranoid very easily when I notice them looking back at me. It's kind of a reverse hypnotism thing going on.

Oh what was that movie? The 3 magicians and they wanted to get into the Eye. Woody Harrelson played the guy that can read people. That's you. It's not magic though of course and you're not reading anyone's soul but you do have a gift. You have an inept ability to read the microscopic changes in people's faces. People like you are extremely valuable to organizations like the FBI... Oh damn what is that other show? It's Tim Roth... Arrrgg damn my memory.

    Edit*
Now You See Me is the Woody movie
Lie To Me is the Tim Roth TV show
