Thanksgiving is overrated
Reasons why I don't like thanksgiving:
1. It's all about the food, and I love food, but thanksgiving food just isn't that good, it's all a ruse. Turkey is bleh and makes me feel sleepy and no fun. stuffing is bleh. i stick the rolls and cranberry sauce.
2. Family! okay so i love my family, but only in small doces and/or taken one by one. all together for a whole evening?!?! eff no.
2. Colonial Americans ACTually killed the Native Americans!!! I'm half Native American and although we're not very outright about this (bc we like to keeps to ourselves) the whole thanksgiving day story (myth! actually) is offensive. it was made to try and pretend that we weren't all nearly murdered. The whole idea of thanksgiving vs. the reality of the situation and what actually happened is quite sick if you think about it.
4. I hate football. It heavily reminds me of our country's anti-intellectualism which i can't stand. So no, I will not sit around with a loud irritating group of family members, while helping to cook this big dinner, and watch a truly war-like GAME... and i'm an athlete, but wathcing proffesional sports?! no.
5. If we went turkey hunting together it'd be kinda fun, but we don't!
6. The preparation is KILLER! I always feel bad for whoever's house it's at.
7. It's an annoying reminder that REALLY some people are just there and loving it bc they hate loneliness and that fact depresses me. haha okay that might be weird of me.
8. Okay I lied, I actually really hate some of my family members and don't wanna around them.
9. Travelling back for Thanksgiving (which most ppl have to do) is a pain in the ass.
10. I just wanted to end my list on a nice round number like 10.
So are these thoughts/reasons normal?! Which ones do you think are or aren't?
