Telling someone youre asexual

How would you prefer to find out someone you are very interested in is asexual?
I've so far always told men "I need time" which is a lie.
There is currently a man i'm talking to that I first talked to 4 years ago and he really tried to prove his feelings while I kept rejecting him (even tho I liked him) because I was afraid of rejection. Now that hes back in my life again I want to give him a chance. He's already tried to talk about sex a few times (not in a creepy way though) which proves he isn't asexual but he hasn't minded that I didn't wanna talk about it and that I very clearly act disinterested in sex.
I'm pretty sure when I last met him 4 years ago he was a virgin as he said he'd never dated or anything because he was so focused on studying but now he has since after all his failed attempts to become my boyfriend he ended up meeting someone else which would make him more experienced today, yet he's still just as awkward as I remember him... So cute.

It's probably best he finds out why I send such mixed signals and about time too so how would you prefer to hear something like that?
I don't want him to think i'm totally against intimacy either though.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Yes, tell him you're asexual. If it's a deal breaker for him, then it's best you don't lead him on. Once you tell him, it's now on him to decide what he wants.

Exactly what I was going to say, honesty is the best policy here.

You should tell him. You dont wanna lead him on to believe he's gonna have that kind of relationship with you.

    Just be honest, and upfront.

You don’t need to tell them, they’ll lose interest when they get to know you.

Just tell him and if he isn't okay with it that's okay it just means he's not a good fit for you and someone better is out there for you.
