Teenage son sleeps with his parents every night?

Is it normal that my teenage son sleeps with us nearly every night? He is 15, and goes to sleep in his own room everynight. But at some point he'll come in and sleep with us. He gets anxious about burglars and feels unsafe and lonely in his own room. What's wrong with him? Is there anything we can do about this?

You can't let him do this. I have a cousin that age that did this and, well, it never really got much better until his parents REALLY started getting angry about it.

Get him a night light and keep all of the doors open to his room and yours and if worse comes to worse, get him counseling.

No. This is totally not normal.

n our culture it is acceptable to sleep in the same room with parents. I did until about 16, guys tend to feel awkward after that.

Kid has some serious anxiety. It's not normal. There may be something bad happening in his life that you don't know about. You should definitely get him counseling.

Yes, i get the occasional scare of bad things before going to bed, but I never run to my parents room. I am too a teenager but that is just weird. You need to talk to him about it.

This situation is not normal at all. How ever i sympathize and do understand.. He has developed a phobia that is taking control of his life. Your not helping the situation by over looking the obvioious... He needs Counceling and both parents need to go with him to give him support so he knows without doubt your standing with him thru this: one exp: If both of you parents were to die tomorrow what would this kid do? He is already dealing with insecure issues and a tragedy like that would devistate him.
    Look outside the box

This isn't normal at all. I strongly suggest that you get him a therapist and a nightlight or play him some relaxing music. You shouldn't let this continue any longer.

Lynch him in the front terrace and warn him to not come into your room or hack his Facebook and post pics of your family in bed.
