My brother's girlfriend (22 years old) insists on tanning topless on the beach even in front of my parents. My parents happily conduct conversations with her on the beach and have not asked her to cover up. Is this inappropriate behavior on her part? On my parents part?

Nudity is not a big deal unless you make one. We are always nude when we are at home. We stay naked if some one stops by for a visit.
ive always sunbathed toppless in front of all my boyfriends there parents, friends, and my kids.
i found my bf's liked it some loved it and none of there dads or bros complained.
So if noone has said anything then let it be, if she looks good do what your dad does
Here in Europe topless or nudity is pretty normal. Actually nobody care about if a girl is tanning in topless, it's really natural. I remember my exgf going to the beach bein in topless with me, his father, the gf of her father in topless too, brother, cousins some nude and i was tempted to be nude too. Everything it's normal and natural, nobody scares
Being topless or nude in front of others is not wrong. Americans have strange ideas about nudity. They are not having sex; she is just topless. No big deal.
So what she's topless? It's just her body and she's not afraid to show it.
My FIL is always trying to have a laugh saying get them out, you're on holiday and you're going to get tan lines, get your top off and stop moaning.. and I just feel really uncomfortable about doing it!! It's just my personal preference but I just don't think it's right.. by the way my boyfriend and his mum and dad are all nude when on holiday at the villa!! I just don't know what else i can say to him to make him understand that I don't want to go topless without hurting his feelings or whatever.. I also don't think he know how uncomfortable he is making me!!!
She is being perfectly normal. Your parents are being perfectly accommodating. Things are working perfectly. Step back and be happy about it.

Being a home nudist, it has never been a problem for me to be around anyone topless or nude. You mean we don't know what we look like? My father-in law has seen topless a number of times. No big deal.
My boyfriend's father is a widower and he and my boyfriend's two uncles all live in the same house. The first time that I visited I was surprised to see that they had a beautiful swimming pool. It was such a hot day and they insisted that I go for a swim even though I didn't bring my bikini. I was wearing a halter top with no bra and didn't want to get my clothes wet because we were going out to eat afterwards. I always had very large breasts (36 DD) since I was 12 and was always a little shy about having anyone see them. I decided to wear my panties and a T-shirt that his uncle gave me to wear. They were all sitting around the pool after I changed and came out in the T-shirt, which was white. At first I just sat on the edge of the pool with my feet in the water. Eventually I had to cool off so I slid into the pool. When I did my body went under the water while the T-shirt just floated on the top of the water above my breasts. It did feel nice and I didn't realize that my breasts were clearly visible under the water. His father and uncle suddenly decided that they needed to cool off and jumped into the pool causing quite a splash. They were super friendly and became very playful swimming around me and carrying on a conversation making me feel very comfortable at the time. When I lifted myself out to sit on the edge of the pool again my boyfriends one uncle sat next to me while the other stood in the water and continued to talk to me and the others. It wasn't until a few hours later when I went in to use the restroom that I realized that my breasts were totally exposed under the clinging, wet t-shirt. I was mortified!
I can see how that might be uncomfortable at first if you're not used to it. But topless sunbathing is very normal in most of Europe, so I think your parents are being very cool really.
Not normal. Shes trying to have her bfs father obviously look at her otherwise she wouldnt do that. What does the wife think

I don't think it's right to be nude around anyone else besides their own partner.
If the parents were uncomfortable it would be inconsiderate and rude. But they are making an effort to simply accept it so there isn't much of a problem. All the same, it is kind of nervy.

i dont think it's ok on her behalf but i think that what ur parents do its the rigth thing to do.. ignore it.. even if it bothers them what are they gona do? complain when it could perfectly cause a figthj between them and and ur sister in law, and maybe even ur brother??
umm she still has to be respectful..HELLO u dont take ur top off in front ur boyfriends parents its just not rite. im not saying theres anything wrong with nudity but its also nice to be conservative and respectful...nikki<3
I dont think theres anything wrong with it. I mean...its strange, but seems like everyone is just comfortable with their/her body. Nudity isnt always meant to be sexual.
