Talking to you to me

Many times when I am alone I talk to myself the instant I am. But not to myself, more or less like to someone else as if they were there, but they aren't. Conversations with a friend, that does exist, with them just they aren't there. And I'll start explaining something to "them", even though there is no is there.

I do that ALL the time! Usually, in my head though, not out loud. Like, if I'm upset or something at someone, then later I have this monologue in my head directed at them, explaining how I feel or why I did something. Sometimes I wish I could record myself saying it out loud and then send the tape to the person.
I think talking like this is a sort of therapy we give ourselves to keep us from going insane. Every day we bottle up feelings and emotions, and talking about stuff to people who aren't actually there is an excellent way to relieve the pressure and de-stress.
