Talking to myself and others in my head?

So for about two years now I have noticed a strange thing I do. For some reason I'll just start having a full conversation with myself ,friends, family, or celebrities just out of no where.
Is this something I should get medical help for? Or is this considered 'normal'?
If this is something that I should get medical attention for, what might this be?

It's fine! It's like practising conversations or imagining situations and how they might go. Good preparation really. I often do this in my head - but out loud in a private place is OK too. Helps you get a feel for how a conversation goes.

I do this as well! I started doing this about 5 years ago or so. I wish I would have thought of it sooner because it does help a LOT!

I've done this all my life and I think for me it's just a way to channel my thoughts.

  • If you hear them talk back then see a psychiatrist. Hearing voices in your head is a symptom of psychosis.

Talking to yourself is fine. Talking to people might mean your bipolar. I don't care for psychiatrists. Talk to a medical Dr. Or find a group that has the same condition.

Maybe you could start by asking on a different medical site what it could be. Then if it keeps happening maybe you should see a doctor. It's been 2 years? If it bothers you you should try to get help for it to stop, at least talk to a psychiatrist about it might help.
