Is it normal to eat foods that are high in fiber and take laxatives to try to help lose weight? I am dying to be thinner!! :( Currently 5'7" and 133 lbs. I wanna be 120 or less!

you are so thin as it is! i'm 5'2 and weigh 5'20! but hell do wht u want =3 just don't go TOO crazy!
Keep eating fiber, ditch the laxatives. I used to do this when I was younger- it doesn't work. It gets rid of the bulk mass but it stimulates your large intestine, which is AFTER the calories are absorbed in your small intestine.
Fiber will do a much better job. Eat prunes. They're amazing.
As other people have said, laxatives are extremely bad for your body and will damage your bowels. You can also die from dehydration.
I have IBS, and I can't understand why anyone would WANT to have diarrhea, cramps, and pain in order to stay thin. I'm about the same weight as you, and I wouldn't mind losing a size, but 133 pounds is a healthy size. You probably don't need to lose weight, but exercise and a healthy diet never hurt anyone.
That's a stupid method to lose weight.
Exercise, adopt a decent HEALTHY diet, and shed a couple pounds.
Besides, your weight sounds fine - if you look too thin, it'll be terribly unattractive.

seriously, 133 pounds isn't that bad if you're 5'7. if you weigh less than 120 you'll look anorexic.
I do the same thing! I feel I can´t control what I eat and I eat like a lotttt so I take laxatives to saty thin
I am 5'7 and weigh 140. Noone believes me though that I weigh that much. I am actually small and size 7 jeans. Sooooo I am betting that you look great. I know what you mean about seeing the scale numbers though. I still cringe. Lol
I think there's a place you can go to get help for that. I'm not being sarcastic here, you should get help.
I used to do it too and it is really really bad for your bowels. Stop now if you can... Try easing yourself off it by eating foods that are considered natural laxatives such as prunes and liquorice...or even a cup of coffee. The best way to lose weight is to drink lots of water and exercise...this will naturally help with digestion.
Laxatives work by building pressure in your colon. The pressure stretches. Your colon. After you have a bowel movement, your whole colon has to refill. Bottom line: when you are older you will be chronically constipated and nothing will work. That's what my grandmother and aunt did to themselves. Stop.
Overuse of laxitives causes dehydration and the shedding of necessary intestinal lining that prevents toxins from seeping out and into the rest of your body... So by all means, keep doing what your doing if you want to get seriously ill and possibly die.
Um, I weigh 120 and I'm only 5'3" and I get told I'm skinny all the time! The weight is just a number, it depends on your build. Also, models aren't healthy, sweetie. Please aim for something healthier!

Hahaha, this is so not anorexia nervosa. WTF maybe bulimia if it gets out of control. Read a psychology textbook before saying anything.
This can be part of Anorexia nervosa....anorexia nervosa has two main components...one is self image and one is behavior.....the person is underweight....severely underweight...at least 10 % of normal bodyweight...and yet they believe they are overweight or fat...the second is an obsession with ganing weight or losing weight....
She is 5'7"...( thank you btw for giving us actual height and weight as it makes a real determination possible) ...so lets say normal for female at 5'7" would be 140-145...so 10 percent would be 14.3 lbs under 143 or 129 lbs....so at around 130 depending if she is large or small boned ( based on wrist and ankle size) would be anorexic....you are 133 so you are not technically there yet unless you are big boned , then you might be there, but your getting there and with the course youve chosen will get there...
Dont worry about weight...strive to be healthy...active ...strong...eat healthy and exercise...dont overdo the exercise either...your weight is actually low
this is in the definitiion of anorexia nervosa ! go to a trusted friend or adult and tell them ur problem
if u dont have the guts then write ot down on a piece of paper And leave it somewhere that the person will find it
